We know there’s nothing worse than watching your child struggle… and we can help. But how?
By enrolling your child at Oxford Learning, you’ve already taken a big step forward on the path to helping your child.
The best thing that you can do to help your child is to encourage him. Heap on the praise—pile it on thick—there’s nothing better than being told
“You’re doing great! Keep up the good work!”
—can it ever be said enough?
And while your child is getting help from us, there’s plenty you can do at home:
- Read, read, and read. Read a book to your child, read the paper yourself, read a magazine—the more a child sees reading, the more natural it is to want to read. If you want your child to be a better reader, you should be a reader yourself. Remember: Children learn by example.
- Talk about learning with your child. You just read that policemen wear uniforms. Ask your child “who else wears uniforms?” Questions like these help develop cognitive skills like evaluation and synthesis—and you can never have too many cognitive skills!
What we are doing to help
